RECOMMENDED USE

1. On iron, steel, special alloys, galvanised and metallised iron and steel, aluminium, copper, zinc, lead, etc. as rust prevention or waterproofing. For outside and inside use.

2. Diluted with 25% water as an adhesion primer coat on slightly or non porous substrates such as glass, smooth bricks and concrete, ceramics, tiles, etc

THEORETICAL CONSUMPTION

• Brush/Roller - 240 - 360 g/m²/coat
• Airless - 360 - 600 g/m²/coat
• Total consumption for optimal rust preventive protection 950 g/m² (in minimum 2 coats) = 350 µm dry film thickness

PRACTICAL CONSUMPTION Practical coverage depends on many factors such as porosity and roughness of the substrate and material losses during application.

SURFACE PREPARATION Remove grease, oil and all other surface contaminations by alkaline or high pressure (steam) cleaning (max. 200 Bars) in combination with appropriate detergents. The substrate has to be dust free and made rust free by means of sandblasting (Sa2), manual cleaning (St2) or high pressure water jetting (min. 600 Bars). After jetting, the substrate has to be dust free. On new galvanised surfaces, new zinc, aluminium, stainless steel, apply first a coat of Pegalink or PVDF Primer. On ferrous substrates, apply Noxyde Plus in red or grey as the first coat. In all instances apply contrasting Noxyde Plus colours for subsequent layers.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE To ensure homogeneity, coating materials should be thoroughly stirred mechanically prior to use.

APPLICATION CONDITIONS Temperature of air, substrate and coating material between 8 and 35°C. Air humidity max. 80% R.H.

APPLICATION & THINNING: BRUSH Undiluted as a rust preventive paint. Diluted with up to 25% volume water as an adhesion primer (consumption about 120 g/m² - max. 100 µm wet film thickness - 20 µm dry film thickness)

APPLICATION & THINNING: ROLLER Undiluted as a rust preventive paint. Diluted with up to 25% volume water as an adhesion primer (consumption about 120 g/m² - max. 100 µm wet film thickness - 20 dry film thickness)

APPLICATION & THINNING: AIRLESS SPRAY Undiluted. Nozzle: 15 - 19 / Pressure: min. 170 bars. Nozzle and pressure can vary depending on the type of substrate, equipment and the experience of the applicator. Put a thin layer of water on top of the paint to prevent skinning.

REMARKS

When used for interior works, provide for adequate ventilation. during work stoppage, fully immerse brush or nozzle in water. Product is recoatable after 24 hours with itself. Compatible topcoats: Coating PRT, Alkythane 7500, Metal Cladding Topcoat, Paracem range, Pegacryl Satin. Do not apply outside if rain is expected within 24 hours. Maximum wet film thickness: 600µm.
