THEY ARE OFTEN FOUND IN PROMINENT PLACES IN THE HOUSE, MOST OFTEN IN KITCHENS AND FAMILY ROOMS.
If you have the desire and an empty space on the wall that needs a little excitement, go wild with chalkboard paint!
Whether your house is a family home that needs a functional place for reminders, or if you want to design a space that adds a touch of creativity to the room - this project is really straightforward and can easily be completed in just one weekend.
If you're not quite ready to sacrifice a major feature in the house, a chalkboard wall is the perfect addition to children's bedrooms and home offices.
See the instructions below before you start…
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Rust-Oleum Chalkboard Paint
- Paintbrush
- Paint roller and tray
- Dropcloth
- Stir sticks
- Painter's tape
STEPS
- First, start by taping off all areas you don't want to paint. This will ensure you get a straight, clean edge.
- As with any painting project, make sure the surface is clean, dry, and free of grease or contaminants by wiping with a damp cloth.
- For larger walls, we recommend using a roller. Stir the paint well and pour it into your tray.
- Now you are ready to start painting. Some people prefer to start with the edges and work inward to the main section. For this, we recommend a paintbrush.
- For the best coverage, apply two to three coats and allow to dry. Remember to allow at least two hours between coats to ensure a smooth finish.
