In this topic, I will show you the solution to a difficult task, namely painting floor tiles - matte, rough granite with a very durable and light paint, because the corridor where they are located has no sunlight and is very dark.

Here is the corridor floor. Before I started painting it, I had to make a threshold for the door.

The paint, which I researched could be used to paint the tiles and be durable, is very special. It is two-component and super toxic. VOC (volatile organic compounds) content - 500 g/l. This is described on the packaging:

4. FIRST AID MEASURES
4.1. Inhalation: Move victim to fresh air. If complaints persist, seek medical
attention.
4.2. Skin contact: Remove contaminated clothing and shoes immediately. Wash contaminated area
thoroughly with soap and water until all product residues are removed. If irritation persists,
call a doctor.
4.3. Eye contact: Rinse eyes thoroughly under running water. Immediate consultation with an eye
doctor.
4.4. Ingestion: The decision whether to induce vomiting should be taken by a doctor.
4.5. Need for qualified medical assistance: There is no specific antidote. Care should be taken
to strengthen the body. Treatment is according to the doctor's assessment, based on the symptoms and
condition of the affected person.
4.6. Special first aid equipment at the workplace: do not give fluids to
drink and do not induce vomiting if the victim is unconscious or has convulsions.
5. FIREFIGHTING MEASURES
Due to the content of flammable solvents in the enamel's composition, the product is classified as flammable
and is designated with risk phrase R 10.
5.1. Suitable extinguishing media: carbon dioxide, alcohol-resistant foam, dry chemicals.
5.2. Media unsuitable for fire extinguishing for safety reasons: unknown
5.3. Specific hazards associated with exposure to the substance/preparation and resulting from
its combustion products and released gases: during incomplete combustion in a fire, phenols and carbon oxides may be
released. Products formed by thermal decomposition should be
treated as potentially hazardous substances, and appropriate precautions must be taken.
5.4. Special protective equipment for firefighters: use of breathing apparatus and
fire-resistant clothing (helmet, jacket, trousers, boots, gloves) is recommended.
6. MEASURES IN CASE OF ACCIDENTAL RELEASE
6.1. Personal precautions: Use appropriate protective clothing, as per section 8. Keep unprotected
persons away.
6.2. Environmental protection measures: Prevent the product from entering soil,
groundwater, and water bodies. Do not allow wastewater from washing to enter the soil,
sewage system, or groundwater. In case of entry into water bodies and the sewage system, notify the relevant
authorities.
6.3. Cleaning methods
In case of an incident and/or accidental spill of the preparation, measures should be taken to
localize and limit it, and the amount of the preparation collected with the help of appropriate absorbent materials
should be temporarily stored in special, tightly sealed and labeled containers and handed over to
persons authorized under Article 37 of the Waste Management Act (WMA).
For large spills: Absorb with inert material and collect.
For small spills: Cover and absorb with suitable absorbent material, e.g., sand. The waste should be
collected in labeled containers.
Dispose of in accordance with local regulations - see section 13. The use of
solvents for cleaning is not recommended. Residual products should be removed with steam or hot soapy water.

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE OF THE SUBSTANCE/PREPARATION
7.1. Handling of the substance/preparation: Handle with care. Avoid contact with eyes and skin.
It is mandatory to use personal protective equipment – protective clothing, protective gloves, and protective
eyewear.
7.2. Storage: Containers should be kept dry and tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place, at
a temperature of 0°C to 25°C. Protect from moisture and direct sunlight.

According to Ordinance No. 13 on the protection of workers from risks related to exposure to chemical agents at
work – limit values for 8 hours:

- 1-Methoxy-2-propanol: 375 mg/m3;
- Cyclohexanone: 40.8 mg/m3.
8.2. Exposure control
8.2.1. Exposure control in the workplace environment: Adhere to good hygiene practices in the
workplace. Ensure sufficient ventilation of the workplace and the room where work is carried out.
Atmospheric concentration levels must be maintained below permissible exposure limits.
8.2.1.1. Respiratory protection: use a suitable respirator
8.2.1.2. Hand protection: protective gloves
For short contact: clean protective clothing is required.
For prolonged or frequent contact: use protective gloves.
8.2.1.3. Eye protection: protective chemical-resistant glasses

must be removed immediately, skin washed with soap and water, clothes washed before reuse.
